I Have A Bone To Pick … With Firefox

Wait .. what?? Firefox?

Yes dear readers, Firefox, you know, that other browser. But wait Tim, you said you only use Google Chrome! Well, that’s true, but I do use Firefox for a couple of sites that I have two accounts for and Chrome gets persnickety and a little bossy when ya try to log into an account with a different username and password. And besides, sometimes I like to have the same site open under both said accounts. Don’t judge me.

Now, to pickin’ this bone. It is a given fact that I am not a very patient person when it comes to my computer and my browser(s). When I click on the icon I want the selected browser to load up, like it’s supposed to. I don’t have any problems with Chrome, I click it and it’s there. But with Firefox it’s almost like it’s doin’ somethin’ else that’s more important and it will get to my request in due time.

I don’t know if the computer has to think about loadin’ it or if Firefox can’t make up it’s mind what it wants to do. Sometimes it will even tease me, like, it’ll pop up for a second then disappear, like it has to go back because it forgot to do somethin’ with a “be right back” attitude. Yes, browsers have attitudes and personalities. When you have used a computer for as long as I have you will learn these little secrets too.

I swear, sometimes it feels like I could get up, go fix supper and eat it in the time it takes for Firefox to load and I just don’t take too kindly to that.

Well Tim, why don’t ya quit usin’ it? The answer to that is, I’m stubborn and I’m kinda’ attached to the little scutter, even if it does make me wanna pull my non-existent hair out. There was a time that I would only use Firefox, it was the best thing since sliced bread, but that was years ago. Chrome came on the scene and I have been hooked ever since.

Oh there have been times that Chrome has forsaken me, I’ve had to remove and reinstall it a couple of times but that was no fault of the browser itself, it was malicious websites that decided to attach things to my precious Chrome, causin’ all sorts of problems. And no, I’m not talkin’ about porn sites, get yer minds outta the gutter.

So, if you use Firefox religiously and have any suggestions on how to make it load faster, I’m open to suggestions. Personally I just think it’s jealous of Chrome and doesn’t like to share, but I could possibly be wrong.

Thanks for readin’.

Tim

Right, but Firefox is the “recommended” browser for this new program at work. I anticipate a lot of irate phone calls in the future!

Yeah, it has to be some sort of profit sharing scheme. Better than Internet Explorer though 🙂
